Jii’s dream: is a playful exploration of the notion of composing, exploring qualities of the matter itself and those of our physicality; the potential dialogue between them creates a visual and sound abstract landscape. The performers are three women that enter in contact with: their own physicality, voices, plastic, paper and a violin. The use of plastic bin bags and women’s’ magazines raises questions of gender and femininity.
The violin is an echo of the woman’s body and is played exploring its physicality, testing the percussion and contact qualities within our body and voices. This performance was first presented at the Conference of Contemporary Music and Dance 2012: Sound, Music and the Moving-Thinking Body in 2012 at the Senate House in London.
